The All-Tag Qhp-Narrow 58Khz Label

All-Tag

ALL-TAG are the one of the world’s largest EAS Label manufacturers and have been in operation since 1992. ALL-TAG are based in Boca Raton (Florida USA) with offices in the UK, Netherlands Mexico and Hong Kong. ALL-TAG provide a complete range of anti-shrink solutions to retailers and their supply chains across the world, working with many of the leading retailers.

Initially ALL-TAG identified the requirement for a smaller AM 58KHz label. Through research with many retailers it was established this was required to allow the retailers to protect smaller items. Working with our AM Label partner, ALL-TAG took the existing 58KHz EAS label technology and created an exciting range of innovative next generation AM 58KHz labels that have a reduced footprint. That’s not all, it also allowed us to lower the overall cost of the product. All this without compromising on detection and deactivation performance too. Numerous patents are held for this product.

The ALL-TAG QHP-Narrow 58KHz label is 24% smaller than a Sensormatic® APX (DR) Labels whilst offering comparable performance and the All-Tag Ultra Narrow label is a whopping 50% smaller. So now retailers can now protect smaller merchandise which may have been difficult to protect previously and also allow items to be tagged more discreetly. This is a major factor for some retailers.

The ALL-TAG QHP-Narrow AM Label can be produced in any colour and can also feature fully customised printing. This allows retailers or manufacturers to include their company logo or a “Security Protected” type text on the label. These two features will either make the security label more discreet or enhance the anti-shrink capability depending on the options chosen. This is a significant step forward from the normal black, white and dummy barcode offerings in the market, although we do offer those options too.

If that breakthrough wasn’t enough to justify retailers exploring the option of using these innovative products, the final piece of the jigsaw was sustainability. There aren’t many, if any, retailers where sustainability isn’t near the top of the agenda at a senior level. Product protection items are generally not very sustainable and part of our ALL-TAG mission is to make consumable product protection solutions more sustainable.

We have achieved this aim for our 58KHz AM labels. Over 90% of the plastic used in the construction of our labels is now from certified re-cycled materials. The labels are also packaged in FSC certified cardboard and the Ultra Narrow version even uses tape free boxes.

And all this with no change to the price, as we don’t see this as an opportunity to profiteer.

This sounds great but what does it mean? Well, in the last 12 months customers using the All-Tag Eco Narrow and Eco Ultra narrow labels have prevented the following:

124 tonnes of Carbon Dioxide entering the atmosphere

64 Tonnes of waste material being produced (plastic, glue & ferrous material)

That is why we call these our AM Eco labels and as more customers join the programme the year on year savings will only increase.

Our next label will use recycled PET (very safe as PET is used for soft drink bottles and clothes etc), which uses single plastics as AM label house.  Therefore the label is both recycled (about 80% recycled PET) and recyclable after this AM label is used and recycled.    (The metal strips inside the plastic house can be separated by magnets or floating method with crashed PET house, before making resins for recycled plastics again)

So the new labels PET are single plastic with 80% recycled content and this plastic is fully recyclable. The metal strips are also recyclable. The cartons are fsc certified too
